your presumption that male dominates, is to be verified first. We, men and women or anybody in between, are building, coloring and furnishing our world together rightly or wrongly. The show of dominance is allowance from the partner. Partnership does not necessarily mean same job equally done. Partnership is more effective when people act in complementary and supplementary ways. An institution and/or society flourish when the right proportion of sharing achieved. Of course other factors work. Perhaps not first time new 50:50 cabinet is formed in Canada. Let's wait for the result. Wherever you see male or female dominance, either you see it wrongly or a temporary malfunction where partnership lacks synergy.
